He ain't heavy, he's my brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go
His welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with gladness
And love for one another
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
He's my brother
He ain't heavy, He's my brother

What beautiful poem. I wish people would feel like this about each other, not just there siblings. After all we are all just brothers and sisters.

I can't read it without singing it in my head... it takes longer that way to read it since the melody is so slow.

And for all you young ones out there... this is a song from 1970 and recorded by many, including the Hollies and Neil Diamond.I love '70s music!

Love the photo. Love the song - I'm probably showing my age here, but I remember the Osmond Brothers singing it. Isn't it kind of their "theme" song??

Yikes... it is! When I goodsearched it, it did mention it was their theme song.
